Cruise lines and cruise operators are omnipresent in Florida. When many travelers conjure up a cruise, they envision the state of Florida, and departing from one of its many great ports en route to the Caribbean, to Mexico, and beyond.
The general base requirement in Florida is that if you have four or more regular employees then you need to carry workers compensation. Well, on some of these monster new cruise ships, there might be 400 employees apiece.
But whether you run a much smaller cruise line, you operate daily, local cruise excursions or nightly dinner cruises along the shore, or anything else, you’ll still need workers compensation. Plus, there are many cruise booking agencies or sales specialists involved in the industry as well, so if you have more than four people on your team there, you need workers comp as well.
